- Art TherapyArt Therapy is an integrative mental health and human services profession that integrates established psychology models with active art-making, creative process and applied psychological theory. Unlike traditional talk therapy, Art Therapists use kinesthetic, sensory, perceptual and symbolic opportunities to explore emotions and feelings which may be limited by language. This empowers the client to tap into their inner well of knowledge to discover solutions and insights in their own way. Art Therapists can help with things like mental health, eating disorders, life changes, anxiety and depression, self-discovery, family and relationship crisis, addiction and substance abuse, and spiritual crises. In some countries, the title Art Therapy or Therapist is regulated. It is essential you are familiar with and adhere to the laws in your state/province or country which govern the appropriate use of titles, require licensure/registration, or a specific level of education.
- CounsellingCounselling is a form of talk therapy that enhances self-understanding and promotes mental well-being. Through deep listening and empathy, counsellors establish a positive working relationship which creates a safe and confidential space. Within this context, clients can develop effective ways to deal with anxieties and negative life patterns and gain new perspectives in a non-judgemental environment. Sessions can be carried out in person or via telephone or videoconferencing. In some countries, Counselling is regulated. It is essential you are familiar with and adhere to the laws in your state/province or country which govern the appropriate use of titles, require licensure/registration, or a specific level of education.
- Integrated Listening SystemsIntegrated Listening Systems (iLs) is a therapeutic approach that combines auditory and sensory stimulation to address various neurological and developmental challenges. It involves listening to specially designed music and sound programs through headphones while engaging in movement and balance activities. iLs aims to enhance neural connections, sensory processing, and self-regulation. It is used in clinical settings by occupational therapists, speech therapists, and other professionals to support individuals with conditions like autism, ADHD, sensory processing disorders, and learning disabilities. The multisensory approach seeks to improve cognitive, emotional, and behavioural functioning by promoting better integration of sensory information in the brain.
- NutritionNutritionists deal with general nutritional aims and work with clients to achieve health goals through personalised nutrition plans and supplementation. They can provide tailored advice to suit a person’s diet, exercise routine, sleeping habits, career and life commitments, and nutritional needs. Nutritionists perform an initial assessment and create a realistic plan that addresses health, weight and nutritional goals, provide education about food and nutrition (for example: how to read a food label) and provide meal plans and recipes. Consulting with a Nutritionist can help clients improve their immune health, improve biomarkers and decrease susceptibility to disease, optimise their physical and mental well-being, assist with weight gain or weight loss, or prepare the body for a specific life event. Nutritionists cannot diagnose eating disorders or design diets to treat specific medical conditions.
- Stress ManagementStress management consultants offer proactive stress reduction techniques, helping clients identify stressors and understand their impact on health. They provide strategies like time management, meditation, and lifestyle adjustments to promote well-being. While they can work in diverse settings, from corporations to schools, they're not mental health professionals and can't diagnose or prescribe treatment. Their role involves creating stress relief programs, educating communities, and offering one-on-one support. Stress management consultants emphasize holistic approaches, often integrating complementary therapies and healthcare referrals to support clients' overall wellness. They empower individuals to manage stress effectively, promoting resilience and improved quality of life while ensuring appropriate referrals for complex mental health needs.
