- Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR)Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (M.B.S.R.) is an evidence-based program offering secular, intensive mindfulness training to assist people with stress, anxiety, depression, and pain. Mindfulness training is a practical approach that trains attention, allowing people to cultivate awareness and to have more choices. MBSR uses a combination of mindfulness meditation, body awareness, yoga, and exploration of patterns of behavior, thinking, feeling, and action. Mindfulness can be understood as the non-judgemental acceptance and “open-hearted” investigation of present moment experiences. MBSR training includes awareness of body sensations, internal mental states, thoughts, emotions, impulses, and memories. This reduces stress and anxiety and increases well-being.
- MentoringMentoring is a directive approach to coaching, whereby a person shares their knowledge, experience and expertise with their mentee to help them develop and grow. In addition to having expertise in a particular field or subject, mentors also have interpersonal skills, know how to motivate and inspire and are adept at identifying goals and roadblocks. Generally, mentoring relationships are informal, meetings are hosted in various settings and the relationship spans several months to several years.
- MeditationMeditation is an umbrella term for a number of practices that train the meditator to be present to their thoughts with awareness and without judgement. Counter to the conditioning of the mind/body system, positive effects of meditation can be heightened relaxation, the building of etheric energy and deeper awareness. Through either sustained focus, mindfulness, or the cultivation of compassion, meditation can clear the mind and ease many health concerns, such as high blood pressure, depression and anxiety.
