Retreat-integration
About
I offer private online sessions to accompany you in this investigation, giving you the support to keep your retreat work alive. We look together, compassionately, mindfully, vulnerably, and with complete honesty, at what surfaced in your retreat, as it shows up in daily life. My approach is trauma- and Compassionate Inquiry-informed, a method developed by Dr. Gabor Maté.
Approved Modalities
- Systemic / Family ConstellationsFamily Constellations, pioneered by Bert Hellinger, is an alternative therapeutic intervention rooted in Gestalt and psychodynamic therapy. It addresses family history, unrecognized dynamics, and dysfunctional patterns that affect individuals. Techniques like drama therapy, sand-tray therapy, and art therapy help clients confront and accept the factual reality of their past. Typically, participants stand in as family members in role-play scenarios, allowing clients to interact directly or observe from a higher perspective. The goal is to gain insights and develop new perspectives, resolving conflicts or familial patterns. Family Constellations are beneficial for identifying childhood patterns affecting the present, confronting deceased or unreachable family members, or understanding how family of origin influences current relationships.
- Hatha YogaYoga, a Vedic tradition dating back over 2,500 years, encompasses physical, mental, and spiritual practices. Hatha Yoga, meaning 'the means of attaining a state of yoga through force,' combines postures (asanas) and breath exercises (pranayama). Various yoga styles like Ashtanga, Restorative, Vinyasa, and Iyengar fall under Hatha Yoga. In Western culture, it has evolved into a slow-paced class focused on alignment, lasting around 1 to 1 1/2 hours. Classes include static postures, pranayama, mantra, mudra, shatkriyas, shatkarmas, and visualization. Yoga benefits physical and mental health through improved flexibility, muscle strength, body awareness, relaxation, and a sense of calm.
- Yoga TherapyYoga therapy is a holistic approach that combines the principles and practices of yoga with therapeutic techniques to promote healing, well-being, and self-discovery. Yoga therapists work with clients one-on-one or in small groups, assessing their unique needs, health goals, and limitations. They then create personalized programs that may include physical movements, breathing exercises, relaxation techniques, meditation, and lifestyle recommendations. This therapeutic approach can help manage or alleviate a variety of health conditions, including chronic pain, stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, and various physical ailments. Yoga therapy should be facilitated by a qualified yoga therapist who has undergone specialised training in the therapeutic application of yoga.
