Reiki is an alternative healing technique that originated in Japan in the early 20th Century by Usui Mikao.  The process of Reiki involves the practitioner placing their hands lightly on or just above the patient to assist with the flow of “ki” or energy.  This energy may seem invisible or elusive, but it is, in fact all encompassing.  During a Reiki treatment the pure flow of energy is re-aligned within the body.  If energy is not aligned due to human worries, fear, anger then these obstructions can cause physical pain.  A Reiki treatment assists in clearing these obstructions and strengthening the flow of energy which not only helps the patient feel physically better but allows a connection to one’s spiritual energy.
