Te Whare Hihiri — House of Energy, Frequency + Flow — is an indigenous-led healing sanctuary, Māori and Samoan owned and led. We hold space for Mirimiri (Māori bodywork) and Fofō (Samoan healing), Sound + Breath journeys, and community wellbeing practices — lived and passed down, not borrowed from a trend.
Our founder's own words: "I can't help anyone else's people be well if mine aren't well first." That's the whare in one sentence.
People arrive already over-extended — the one everyone else relies on, holding up through change and grief, who's never learned that rest is productive and asking for help isn't failure. Underneath most of it is grief they didn't know they were carrying, until it starts releasing on the table.
A place to put the weight down. Every session — 1:1 or in community — is held with Tika (doing what's right, not what's easiest), Pono (truth over performance, we're honest about what you actually need), and Aroha (love and compassion for every person who walks through our door, wherever they're at).
Come as you are. Leave as who you're becoming.
- MirimiriMiriMiri is a traditional Māori massage approach that works with spiritual love. The form uses hands and forearms in a rhythmic approach to release deeply held tension in the body through the touch on tissue and muscle, lymphatic, circulatory, respiratory and digestion systems. The approach works throughout the full body, front, back, and stomach. MiriMiri works directly with the holistic healing system that integrates the body, mind and spirit. If the terms are broken down Mi – means “to stimulate” and Ri – means to agitate. The energy of care is said to transmute energy at a cellular, muscular and energetic level. The practice is deeply rooted in Māori traditions and beliefs, emphasizing the interconnectedness of all aspects of being. Mirimiri aims to support healing, strengthen spiritual connections, and nurture overall wellbeing through a culturally rich and sacred approach.
